Why we need a Lassa fever vaccine

In West Africa, devastating seasonal outbreaks of Lassa fever result in an estimated 300,000+ cases and 5,000 deaths – although the true disease burden is thought to be much larger. There are no licensed vaccines to prevent Lassa in endemic countries and to stop future global spread due to population growth and climate change. IAVI’s Lassa vaccine R&D model is changing the game.
