IAVI Board member Wafaa El-Sadr honored

IAVI Board member and ICAP founder Wafaa El-Sadr recognized for her contributions to global health.

IAVI heartily congratulates Wafaa El-Sadr, M.D., M.P.H., M.P.A., founder and global director of ICAP, and IAVI Board of Directors member since 2022. On April 25, 2023, El-Sadr was honored by the Columbia Mailman School of Public Health at their Centennial Gala for her invaluable impact on global health.

El-Sadr started her career as an infectious disease physician working at Harlem Hospital in New York when the HIV epidemic was at its height in the United States. She applied her medical degree from Cairo University and innovative models of care she learned in Egypt to effectively respond to HIV/AIDS in the community. El-Sadr became a dedicated leader in the global fight against HIV as well as an innovator in creating effective strategies for confronting various global health challenges.

IAVI is honored to have an expert and visionary such as Wafaa El-Sadr on our Board of Directors.
