IAVI at HIVR4P Virtual 2021

IAVI is proud to participate in the HIV Research for Prevention Conference 2021 (HIVR4P // Virtual), the world’s only scientific meeting dedicated exclusively to biomedical HIV prevention, hosted by the International AIDS Society (IAS). We join in celebrating the progress made by scientists, advocates, communities, and all who are committed to a world without AIDS.

The conference is a combination of live, recorded, and on-demand presentations across four conference days: January 27-28 and February 3-4. IAVI leaders and researchers will contribute to the programming along with the world’s leading HIV prevention researchers, implementers, and advocates, presenting the latest science across 29 research categories.

At this conference, IAVI has a prominent role in sharing the research and partnership innovations that drive progress on HIV prevention. We have key speaking slots on topics including HIV vaccine development and the potential for use of broadly neutralizing antibodies to prevent HIV. ADVANCE-supported clinical research center partner researchers from many African countries are highlighting strides made in strengthening research capacity in Africa and bringing forward the needs of communities whose health experiences are most often silenced. Advocates’ Corner

IAVI will be leading and participating in several activities in the Advocates’ Corner.

In particular, with AVAC and the CASPR Coalition, we are co-hosting The Advocates’ Dialogue on DRM for R&D, which seeks to provide a platform for HIV prevention advocates and civil society organizations to discuss domestic financing of HIV research and development on continent and share experiences and perspectives on advocacy for domestic resource mobilization for HIV R&D and the impact of COVID-19 on future funding for HIV R&D.
