Chief of Party and ADVANCE Program Director

Ngonidzashe ("Ngoni") Madidi, M.D., provides oversight for ADVANCE’s operations and administration in IAVI’s Africa locations and across implementing partners and oversees all aspects of administration and operations in Africa and supervision of operations staff.

Before joining IAVI, Madidi was the Deputy Chief of Party for a USAID-funded Cooperative Agreement and Deputy Country Representative at Population Services International (PSI) in Zimbabwe. He provided technical and strategic leadership for evidence-based program design, roll-out, and implementation of a complex range of HIV and sexual and reproductive health and rights clinical service delivery programs. He also served as the project director for a four-year Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation-funded Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision grant. Prior to that, Madidi served in program management roles within PSI, the Clinton Health Access Initiative, and the Ministry of Health and Childcare in Zimbabwe.

Madidi received his MBChB from the University of Zimbabwe College of Health Sciences. He holds an MBA from the Management College of Southern Africa and an MPH from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
