Finance & Administration

 

The Finance & Administration department is committed to providing timely and accurate financial information and services to both the internal and external constituencies of IAVI.

Aside from managing IAVI’s finances, the F&A department also plays a central role in the global administration of the organization, overseeing audits and compliance, managing grants and contracts, implementing cost containment measures and updating and deploying the information technology crucial to IAVI’s day to day activities.

F&A is also charged with refining the internal operations of IAVI, which is a key strategic objective of the organization. This involves:

  • Ensuring proper stewardship of IAVI’s financial assets worldwide and providing timely, accurate and relevant financial information and analyses to senior managers, board members, partners and donors 
  • Pursuing business processes and strategies that promote speed, flexibility, innovation and collaboration in IAVI’s efforts to develop an effective and affordable AIDS vaccine for use throughout the world
     
  • Supporting IAVI’s operations worldwide by implementing best practices in financial, general and human resources management
     
  • Coordinating the procurement, installation and maintenance of state-of-the-art information technology to support the operations of IAVI and many of its globally dispersed partners
     
  • Managing the flow of financial resources needed to achieve primary strategic goals identified by IAVI for the period between 2008 and 2013
