Benefits

IAVI offers benefits to its employees everywhere, but the details below apply only to those in the US

Full-time and part-time (25 hours or more) IAVI employees are entitled to these benefits, provided they meet the eligibility requirements for each particular plan.

Health and Welfare Plans – effective on hire date

Medical: IAVI offers two options for medical benefit plans. Premiums are paid by IAVI and employee in both plans.

  • Open Access Managed Choice through Aetna: This “High Plan” is a comprehensive POS Plan, which includes in/out-of-network services and prescription drug benefits
  • Open Access Exclusive Provider Organization through Aetna: this “Base Plan” is only for in-network providers/facilities

Dental: Freedom of Choice Plan through Aetna, a comprehensive PPO/DMO, which includes in/out-of-network services and allows you to switch between plans at any time throughout the plan year. Premiums are paid by IAVI and employee.

Vision:  Vision Service Plan (VSP); this plan offers in/out-of-network services through an extensive national network of independent eye-care doctors. Premiums are paid by IAVI and employee.

Flexible Spending Accounts: Provided by Benefit Strategies, the plan allows the user to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for expenses not covered under IAVI benefits plans for health care, dependent care, transit and parking costs with the use of a debit card.

Income Protection – effective on hire date

Basic Life Insurance: Basic group life coverage through UNUM equal to two times your annual salary to a maximum of $500,000 without evidence of insurability. Premiums paid by IAVI.

Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance: Coverage through UNUM equal to two times your annual salary to a maximum of $500,000 without evidence of insurability. Premiums are paid by IAVI.

Voluntary Life Insurance: Employee can elect additional coverage for self increments of $10,000 up to $500,000. The coverage is available for spouse and dependent children. Premiums are paid by employee.

Short-Term Disability: Payments begin on the eighth consecutive day of illness, and benefits are offered up to 6 months of illness. Premiums are paid by IAVI.

Long-Term Disability: Provides 60% of monthly earnings up to a monthly maximum of $15,000. Premiums are paid by IAVI.

403(b) Retirement Plan

IAVI employees may begin making contributions to IAVI’s 403(b) retirement plan immediately upon employment.

Tax Deferred Annuity: Through TIAA-CREF, this plan allows you to defer pre-tax contributions up to the annual IRS-mandated maximum. Effective on your date of hire, IAVI matches up to 2% of salary after a six-month waiting period.

Defined Contribution Plan: Through TIAA-CREF; this plan, effective after six months of employment, provides you with contributions made by IAVI, regardless of whether or not you participate in the tax deferred annuity plan, based on a percentage of your salary.

You will be 100% vested in IAVI’s Company Contributions and Company Match (including any earnings on such amounts) after accruing three (3) years of vesting service under the Plan. You will be credited with one (1) year of vesting service in this plan for each year you work at least 1,000 hours per year. You are always 100% vested in your own contributions and the earnings on those contributions.
Employee Assistance Program

This program through UNUM helps employees and their family members find solutions for everyday work-life challenges, such as child/elder care referrals, legal consultations and financial planning assistance. Premiums are paid by IAVI.

Paid Time Off

Vacation Days: Accrued at a rate of 1.25 days per month
Sick Days: 10 days per year of employment
Personal Days: 3 days per year of employment
Holidays: 11 days per year

Learning and Development

IAVI depends on the capabilities of its employees to grow the organization and help achieve its strategic goals.  It is very important that employees continue to develop, growing skills and competencies to meet the needs of our changing environment.  To accommodate our reality and increase offerings of formal development opportunities to all permanent staff, we are offer a tool called IAVI University!
IAVI University is a web-based learning environment that houses internally and externally created training content and professional learning curriculums that are accessible any time any place.
