Bellagio Report

In 1994 the AIDS epidemic was escalating and AIDS vaccine development appeared not to be moving forward.  In response to the crisis, the Rockefeller Foundation convened an international meeting in Bellagio, Italy, bringing together scientists, public health officials, leaders from the pharmaceutical industry and from non-governmental organizations to discuss whether there was a problem and if there was, to look at ways to move AIDS vaccine development forward.
